Elm Street Elementary School continues to Move the Needle, ranking among the top 5 percent of Title I schools in Georgia for academic progress and earning recognition as a 2026 Title I Reward School.
The school has been named a 2026 Title I Reward School, a distinction recognizing Title I schools making the most progress in improving student performance.
The state identifies Title I Reward Schools based on their progress in improving student performance. The recognition compares content mastery scores from the two most recent years of reported statewide assessment data and honors the top five percent of Title I schools making the most progress for all students.
For Elm Street, the recognition reflects the academic growth taking place throughout the school and the work of students, teachers, staff, and families.
“This recognition shows what happens when our students, teachers, staff, and families work together with a clear focus on student achievement,” Rome City Schools Superintendent Dr. Eric L. Holland said. “Being among the top five percent of all Title I schools in Georgia for academic progress is a tremendous accomplishment. Elm Street continues to Move the Needle, and I am incredibly proud of the work taking place throughout the school to help every student grow and succeed.”
The Georgia Department of Education credited effective teaching and strong school leadership as important factors in schools earning the distinction.
Elm Street Principal Brittany Little said the recognition belongs first to the students who have continued to grow academically and the people supporting them along the way.
“Our students are at the heart of this recognition, and I am so proud of the progress they continue to make,” Little said. “Our teachers and staff work every day to meet students where they are, challenge them to grow, and give them the support they need to be successful. This recognition belongs to our entire Elm Street family, including the families who support our students and partner with us throughout the year.”
The 2026 Title I Reward School designation recognizes Elm Street not simply for where its students are academically, but for the progress they have made from one year to the next.
